Tim Velzy

Tim Velzy (Velz)

Multi-genre Producer & DJ

Tim Velzy, recording as Velz, is a Detroit-rooted electronic music producer and DJ releasing through MusicEPs, the Orlando-based label within EmpowerPlay Studio. His catalog moves between house music, melodic and progressive house, disco, drum and bass, and experimental electronic production.

On Fading Echoes and In This Light, Velz pairs driving house rhythms with atmospheric synths, vocals and themes of memory. Midnight Discotheque and Guilty Pleasure turn toward disco-house grooves, while 3AM Apologies explores liquid drum and bass and jungle. Fault Line brings atmospheric breakbeats into a record about human habits and machine loops.

Under Velz Presents: Virtual Roots, he explores AI-assisted production through reggae, dub and electronic fusion. Frequency & Horizon and Wavelengths connect roots-inspired songwriting with electronic rhythm, giving his multi-genre catalog a different perspective without leaving its emphasis on groove behind.

Brent Scudder

Brent Scudder (Mr. 7 Inches)

DJ | Producer | Audio Engineer

Brent Scudder, known as Mr. 7 Inches, is a Detroit DJ, producer and audio engineer whose approach to electronic music starts with vinyl and turntablism. His all-genre sets connect Detroit's underground sounds, with ghetto tech and raw bass-driven selections at their core.

Through his work as a host and curator with 313.FM, Scudder brings established artists and emerging talent into the same conversation. His appearances at Detroit venues and Tec-Troit reflect a practice rooted in the city's music community. On MusicEPs, the Orlando-based label within EmpowerPlay Studio, he brings that Detroit perspective to a wider audience.

Alva Æther

Alva Æther

DJ | Producer | Audio Engineer

Alva Æther is a DJ, producer and audio engineer working at the intersection of French house and nu-disco. His sound draws on the French Touch era of 1997–2003: dusty record samples, filtered basslines, phased vocals and bright synthesizers, shaped for a modern dance floor.

The project explores the tension between groove and melancholy. Disco rhythm carries the energy, while nostalgic textures give the music its emotional weight. Associated with le funk tears and featured on the MusicEPs roster, Alva Æther approaches electronic music as a place where dance-floor release and reflection can coexist.

Fault Line

Velz · Electronic

Fault Line is a nine-track electronic album by Velz, built around the meeting point between human habit and machine repetition. The six-minute atmospheric breakbeat opener, Cold Storage Epoch, sets the record's perspective: thousands of years of human record-keeping against the hum of modern computation.

Cold Reboot, Cache Refresh, Copper Ground, Empty Bracket, Zero at the Sum, Off Cycle Quartz and Floor Noise Ceiling carry that idea through the album before Kill Switch closes it. Across roughly 40 minutes, the grooves balance a hand-played feel with the precision of a machine loop. Explore the tracklist and buy WAV and MP3 downloads directly from MusicEPs.

Cold Storage Epoch

Velz · Dance / Jungle, Drum'n'bass

Cold Storage Epoch is a six-minute atmospheric breakbeat track by Velz at 126 BPM, featured on the electronic album Fault Line. It connects ten thousand years of human record-keeping with the infrastructure of modern computation, placing limestone tally marks and cuneiform ledgers alongside Northern Virginia server farms.

Spoken-word commands cut through the rhythm, giving the track a narrative as well as a pulse. The release brings an atmospheric approach to Velz's breakbeat, jungle and drum-and-bass catalog. Explore the track on MusicEPs and follow its SoundCloud link for more listening.

3AM Apologies

Velz · Drum and Bass

3AM Apologies is a two-version drum-and-bass release by Velz about the aftermath of a messy night out: blurred memories, empty bank accounts and messages better left unsent. Its conversational UK-style storytelling gives the release a human counterpoint to the rhythm.

The original version takes a liquid drum-and-bass approach, pairing driving reese bass with melodic, emotional chords. The Street Step Edit moves toward jungle, changing the snare placement and breaking up the beat for a rougher feel. Listen to both versions to hear how the same late-night story changes with the groove.

Velz · nuDisco, Disco House

Guilty Pleasure is a nu-disco and disco-house release by Velz. The Two Terabyte Mix combines filtered loops, punchy drums and a driving bassline at 128 BPM, keeping the production focused on dance-floor momentum.

Its official music video adds a satirical second layer: a deadpan luxury perfume-ad parody featuring eighteen-dollar sourdough toast, a 45-minute rain line and a two-terabyte cloud upgrade. Overview

Velz · House, Deep House, Amapiano

Overview is a house music EP by Velz inspired by the Overview Effect—the change in perspective associated with seeing Earth from orbit. The release moves from soulful amapiano grooves on Ekhaya Rhythm to the driving instrumental house of Orbital Path.

The Ascent and The Shift form a two-part lyrical finale, bringing the journey back to perspective and our place on a pale blue dot. Across house, deep house and amapiano, the EP uses rhythm and storytelling to connect an Earth-to-orbit concept with the dance floor. Music by Velz, released through MusicEPs.

Battery in the Red

Velz · House / Detroit House

Battery in the Red is a Detroit house single by Velz, released through MusicEPs.
